CHRISTMAS

2010 Christmas had its good and bad this year. We'll start with the bad so we can end on a good note! We ALL got sick! Not just our family but Keith and Kenzie's family also. Mom and Dad got lucky and made it out alive without any problems. Well mine didn't actually come for a few weeks(I thought I got lucky) but it eventually got to me!

Keith and Mackenzie's family actually got it first. Really bad stomach flu where you are just throwing up constantly for 24 hrs. Poor guys. Because we had all been around each other it moved its way over to our family and hit Nathan on Christmas morning:( The night before Nathan had gone swimming at the hotel and was doing fine. But right when we left his ended up losing everything on the second floor of the hotel! We thought it was because he had been spinning in a chair but it ended up being the bug. Christmas morning after breakfast he lost all his pancakes. By that time Mom and Dad came over to watch us open up our gifts. We made it through the gifts fine and Nathan really enjoyed opening presents and once his were gone he moved to ours. He just liked to unwrap.

After we opened up gifts without any sickness, Nathan lost his stomach again. Poor guy! He was to the point of dry heaving so I put him to bed and he gladly went. We felt bad because we had planned to have a big Christmas dinner with everyone and we had most of the food. In the end, everything worked out and Nathan was feeling fine by the evening-ish. He was back to eating light solid foods. However, a day later after we had gone to Dale and Merri's, David came home not feeling so well. He went to bed early but then woke up with the same thing Nathan had. However, his was WAY worse! He had the most severe stomach pain and was barely making it.
(I have to admit I felt bad for him but men are the biggest babies when they are sick. I was having the hardest time not laughing at him because he was being SO dramatic. We laugh about it now and I tease him about that night but I'm telling you, as a wife it was so HARD not to laugh when he was acting like he was dying.)

Luckily, David's parents were still here so they came over around 2 or 3am and sat with David. His Dad was able to give him a blessing and I know that was a comfort to David. Of course he had what every man wants when he's sick. His mommy:) When you have your mom who needs your wife! Sheryl was so nice and let me go to sleep and she watched David. By the next day he felt much better. For some reason I didn't get it for a few weeks later. It wasn't pleasant but I didn't have it long like the others had.

The good was that we got to spend Christmas with mom and dad and Nathan loved it! He loves spending time with his gma and gpa dub and talks about them often. He always wants to call them to tell them what he did that day. It's really cute. He got to swim in the hotel pool and still talks about it 3mo later! It was a good time with family but not too much fun with sickness. Better luck next year!
