Well it's been a while since I updated our blog but we've been up in Washington since Friday the 19th and it's been a nice break to have been back home. When we were on our way up I was excited to come home and see my family and whatnot and also drive my car. To my dismay, however, Tri-Cities had a good 8" of snow all on the ground and the roads were covered in snow, too! I was so bummed.
Christmas was a fun day, nice and relaxing. The morning started out with a slight scare from Nathan, though. When Sharie got up to get him around 6:30 she brought him in to me because she needed to go out to the living room to get something and when she put him down by me he let out this short, loud, high-pitched scream and then his face started turning red. Then a couple seconds later he let out another of the same scream and at this time I could tell he wasn't breathing so I turn him on his stomache and start patting his back - that's what they taught us in my CPR classes and then he started breathing a little bit more, but still not normally. So I finally took him out to the living room, and by this time I was pretty scared, and just kept doing the same thing and then he finally started crying normally and breathing and so I was able to breathe, too. After all that he passed out on his blanket on the living room floor.
So like I said, Christmas started out interesting for us. Saturday after Christmas was Nathan's blessing which was a really awesome experience. We had quite a lot of people there for it. Afterwards we had a small luncheon and then we all just went home. Then finally on Sunday we got a big chinook that blew through and most of the snow melted, and all the snow on the roads melted so I was able to take my car out. Oh, what a nice feeling it was to drive that beautiful car, again. I just drove around and then Monday, even more of the snow was melted and I had to run some errands so of course, I took my car. Monday night Sharie asked me if she could drive it and so Tuesday, during the day we went up to Southridge and the drove the car around up there and even drove it home. She did really well for her first time I was surprised. She was surprised by how hard the clutch and gas pedal are to push, lol.
Now we're back home we got back last night and we celebrated New Year's with Sharie falling asleep around 11:45 and me staying up and feeding Nathan past midnight so I was able to listen to people's fireworks. As soon as Nate was asleep though, I went to bed and passed out. I told Sharie that I would get up with him the whole night, instead of us splitting the night like we normally do, and to my convenience, he only woke up at 3:30 and 7:30. I was very pleased with that. Well that's kind of a short version of a nice long vacation.

Wow, what a scary thing! I'm glad the little guy is ok. How cool is it that you could go home for the holidays and bless him all in one trip?! Oh, and PS - I hate to say it, but that picture of him with the tanning goggles on is down-right terrifying! Don't make such a cute kid look so freakin scary!! haha!
